CORNHOLE TOURNAMENT INFO:

  • Tournament is limited to 32 total teams (co-ed teams are allowed).
  • Tournament check-in will take place from 11:00am-11:30am.
  • Tournament play will begin promptly at 12:00pm and should be completed by 5:00pm.

CORNHOLE TOURNAMENT RULES & REGULATIONS:

  • Tournament will be following the American Cornhole Organizations Rules, which can be found at https://americancornhole.com/aco-official-rules-for-the-sport-of-cornhole/. Please review these rules before arriving to the event, because there will be no deviations. It is the team captain’s responsibility to know the rules referenced on that website. Copies will be available on-site to read at the Tournament Headquarters tent.
  • Teams are permitted to bring their own regulation bags. If you are unsure if your bags are regulation, please clear them for play when your team checks-in at Tournament Headquarters.
  • Teams must check in with the tournament director at least 30 minutes before the tournament starts. Late arriving teams will forfeit their entry fees and will not be able to participate.
  • The tournament is double elimination, so every team will play at least two games and your team will need to lose twice before your tournament is over.
  • Before the tournament begins, there will be a player meeting in which everyone will pay attention to demonstrations of play and ask any questions that they might have.
  • When your team name is called to play (please make sure that both players know the team name), your team will have 5 minutes to report to your court and if both players fail to show for whatever reason, the team will forfeit that game and it will count as a loss. If one person from the team is at the court, you can wait up to 7 minutes to start. The tournament director will be monitoring this closely due to time constraints.
  • The tournament bracket will be hosted on Brackelope (http://brackelope.com/) and the tournament bracket & results will be posted on the San Diego ACO Facebook Page (https://www.facebook.com/SanDiegoACO/) for live access by players and event attendees.
  • If there is a dispute, please stop play and ask the tournament official to make a ruling. ALL OFFICIALS’ DECISIONS ARE FINAL.
  • By participating in the Event, participants agree to be bound by decisions of the San Diego Margarita Fest and the Tournament Officials.
  • The tournament will be randomly seeded at the beginning. Teams will flip a coin and the winning team gets side choice, first bag, and their choice of bags. If both teams have the same color bag, a set of bags can be borrowed from the tournament director.
  • Teams who win their match will report their win to the tournament director.
  • There is no tolerance for arguing, fighting, obscene gestures, mocking, or talking smack to opponents or festival attendees. Good sportsmanship is encouraged. Refer to section 5:1 of the rules for penalties and or violations.
  • Crowd or outside interference of any kind will not be tolerated.
  • The Tournament Officials will interpret these rules and resolve any disputes, conflicting claims, or ambiguities concerning the rules of the Event, and the Tournament Officials’ decisions concerning such disputes shall be final.
  • If the conduct or outcome of the matches is affected by human error, any mechanical malfunctions or failures of any kind, intentional interference, or any event beyond the control of the Event representatives, the San Diego Margarita Fest reserves the right to terminate the Event, or make such other decisions regarding the administration or outcome as the San Diego Margarita Fest deems appropriate.
  • Competitors are not guaranteed a prize.
  • Rules not listed in this document will be handled by the tournament director.
  • All decisions made by the San Diego Margarita Fest are final. The San Diego Margarita Fest may waive any of these rules at its sole discretion.
